A new way of life can be somewhat daunting. When it is a decision like a new business, some people just are not cut out to jump in right from the start. It needs careful thought. When you read stories about people making good money and are very successful in the online affiliate marketing phenomenon, there’s a tendency to believe, “This looks doable, I’ll give it a shot”.

It’s not the simplest of things to run an online business… But lunch breaks are limitless!!! You can’t be fired!!! And if management sucks… Oh yeah, YOU’RE MANAGEMENT. Fortunately, you’re given a blank check… Which could mean one of two things: “PRICELESS, OR WORTHLESS!” That’s completely up to you.

The famous quote: “People Don’t PLAN to Fail, They Just Fail To Plan”.

THERE’S NO PLANNING, which I believe causes the greatest setbacks. There are reasons why you always hear that you should put a plan in place for any business, even this one at Wealthy Affiliate. For instance, Do you even KNOW if you have time to run a business? You always hear people say, “This is too time-consuming, I don’t have the time to do this”. You need to know this in the beginning.

Do you even know what this will cost you financially, even as a start-up, or if you have a 3,6,9, or 12 month trial run that you can afford? We don’t want you to quit what you started here, especially after you’ve invested any capital from the beginning.

This all mean that YES, YOU CAN DO THIS BUSINESS, BUT YOU WILL NEED TO BE MANAGEABLE AND HAVE A PLAN OF ACTION FIRST.

I’ve heard that the biggest obstacles to sustaining a business here at Wealthy Affiliate are money, time, and health. Are you prepared when you come to these hurdles? Each month you reconcile your checkbook. That’s a plan, eh, BEFORE you go out on an Xmas shopping spree.

Here, you can test the water, but plan with a time frame in mind, and if there’s a cost involved that you may incur that you may not be prepared for. How’s your health? Do you have limitations that could stop you in your tracks going forward? Can we in the world be of any assistance to you in a time of need?

By all means, do this business, but keep an open mind. If it becomes overwhelming and stressful to your health, or overbearing for your bank account, maybe this is not the right time to start this business.

I personally do a lot of planning. Once a long time ago, I actually started a plan and it ended with a plan, and it worked out just great! If my initial plan had failed, (which it did), there was; “A PLAN FOR A COMEBACK!!!”
